I'm a fortunate bee who had time to chill and unwind, and escape from the busy life of a uni student. I hope i get to find a good work-life balance in future. Working hard is a must. Everybody has to adapt to this competitive world and contribute to the economy. But apart from the business world, we need to dedicate time to our friends, and family. And ourselves.

Of course, i like to spend such quality time away from the city. I remember the day mely visited melbourne i jumped at the chance to get out of the CBD and brought her to the outer part of melbourne.

Beach comber @ St kilda beach, Melbourne.

Here we didn't see people in suits, or working clothes, or students rushing to catch the tram. We saw couples wow-ing at the sight of jelly fish and elderly men with their fishing rods. Yes... yessss what a breather!

Now this is Husk @ toorak.

I read about this place over the internet and thought it seemed like a pretty place to check out with mely. And indeed, it was this charming little cafe sandwiched in between boutiques and fish-n-chip stores on a shopping street. And it was like uncovering treasure as we walked further in. It's not just a cafe, it's a boutique cafe. Affordable designer-looking clothes catered for middle-aged women, pretty candles and vases... all the way to the back is a small section with nicely spaced out tables and chairs, then walk a little further and it'll lead you to the courtyard! I loveee courtyards! It was floral themed and i swear the flowers knew exactly where to come in, so natural i dont think they were decorations. And in it were the pretty english tea tables. <3 That was the reason for the visit, but it was drizzling so we settled down inside, which was nice in another way. You know what i mean... sheltered from the rain, having tea and yogurt, cozy and comfortable. Nice!
Stacey Kent today :)

My photoshop skills used to be like, 2/100?

I learnt something new via google. it's really simple but i'm quite amazed :)

I like this cafe and i will be back because the coffee is good. The best latte i've tried so far, after my departure from melbourne 4 months ago. Finally the froth's colour ain't snow-white. I even had a sweet little rosetta i havent seen in a while. and i could actually taste the coffee beans. In fact, once i pushed open the tall glass door i could already smell the beans! Mmmm i like that.

I sat at the long table top aligned to the glass window and had the perfect view of observing all the people walking towards somerset road, and also the opposite cafes. What a busybody, fern! Ambience was pretty nice, and i enjoyed the music without hearing my neighbours' overlapping conversations so that's cool. But i went at 3pm. If you were to visit during lunch time or dinner, i'm not sure if it'll be that peaceful. But the guy told me it's a bar at night, "at night the bar comes to life" he said.

I'll be back!

listening to soothing songs, missing my care-free days exploring cafes in melbourne, reading a book, watching people on the streets walk by. those were nice days, and people who likes this kinda life should go to these places!

Dimattina, Melbourne.

Auction Room, Melbourne.

Deadman Espresso, Melbourne.

Mart 130, Melbourne.

i remember how it felt like, going to these places as if i was going for a holiday away from the city.

this has gotta be my happiest car ride in my whole time i was in melbourne. singing to bohemian rhapsody with friends in the car against the breeze. best.

I've always wanted a separate blog from my private musings which can be immature and also an over-spilling of details about my personal life and thoughts --> which even I am sometimes embarrassed of. This blog would mainly contain snapshots of cafes i'd like to share. It's not a professional food blog by the way. I'm not a critic.

If u're wondering why i included music in my title... i have no idea, but i just know i WANT music to be a part of this. I love the music i love. I'd love to be able to make my own music one day. keyword: one day. Meanwhile i listen to others'. I'm gonna have my own little cafe one day and music will be a big part of it.

I'm a sucker for that ambience, and pretty things. Imagine being in Venice, sitting by the window in a brick-walled cafe situated along the canal, watching life go by, listening to stacey kent, reading your book, with 2 cups of coffee and a blueberry friand. Yup, i'm a sucker for that sort of thing.

ok let's see if this blog thing works out.
